Situated in the heart of Somerset, and nestled between the two vibrant cities of Bath and Wells, the Old Down Inn (Freehouse) serves as the ideal base for the great attractions the area has to offer.

With it's wholesome food, accommodation, real ales and warm welcoming atmosphere, this really is the traditional English public house.

Relax in the lounge and sink into our scarlet red leather sofas with a pint of West Country ale and chat with the locals (if you dare!). Afterwards, to soak up all those drinks, enjoy a hearty meal from our excellent menu, which can be found via the link on the left.

We offer a variety of ales direct from the cask, wines, spirits, regular beers and lager.

Be sure to check out our new look  "green room", with stylish, high back leather chairs, and brand new designer tables!! Our "top" bar has also been removed to accomodate the relocation of the pool table, allowing for easier maneuvering of the cue!

All rooms are en-suite with TV, tea and coffee facilities.
